Introduction

Shout Out for SEND have been campaigning for schools to introduce SEND education into PSHE lessons as part of our Children and Young People’s Plan.

As part of this project, our co-chairs, Pippa & Serena have written an open letter on behalf of young people with SEND to the people who are reviewing the National Curriculum, and also to the Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson MP.

What else are we doing?

As part of our action to campaign for SEND to be taught in schools, we are working with the PSHE lead at the council, Carol Stottor, to share our voices with all PSHE leads in Buckinghamshire schools. We are doing this to try and encourage more schools to teach their students about SEND which we believe will help them become more inclusive places for people with SEND.
