Introduction
The Youth Voice Executive Committee (YVEC) is a space for young people aged 11 to 19, and up to 25 if they have a Special Educational Need or Disability, to speak about issues that are important for young people. Our meetings and activities give young people the opportunity to bring attention to topics that matter to young people in Bucks.

What did we do?
Each year the facilitators and members of the Youth Voice Executive Committee plan a Winter Social filled with fun activities, food and games! This year we held it in the main room of Judges Lodgings in Aylesbury, filling the room with festive decorations and playing Christmas music!
We welcomed everyone with invitations, Christmas crackers and a fun team building activity! After that we decorated Christmas biscuits and cup cakes! We had a break for some pizza and party food.
We played another fun team building game where each team wrapped one person up as a present! Each team worked together and the outcomes were creative and funny! We finished with an excellent quiz written and presented by one of our members.
Why is it important to have a Winter Social?
The Winter Social is important to the Committee for many reasons. Spending time together outside of our more formal meetings helps us build closer friendships and get to know each other in a laid-back setting. It’s also a great way to celebrate and appreciate everyone’s hard work in volunteering!
