Underage test purchasing
Be a Test Purchaser and Make a Difference!
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers aged 15-17 to join us in a crucial mission to ensure the safety of our community.
By participating in our test purchases, you can actively contribute to reducing sales of alcohol, vapes, cigarettes and other age-restricted products to underage children and young people across Buckinghamshire.
Our goal is to create a safer environment by holding retailers accountable for their actions and fostering a culture of responsible sales.
What Taking Part Looks Like:
As a test purchaser, you’ll be an essential part of a team that includes three officers. Your mission will involve visiting multiple shops in a single day. Together, we collaborate with retailers and the police to assess compliance with the law and age verification practices.
During the test purchase, you, as an underage volunteer, will attempt to buy an age-restricted product. You might be covertly observed by an officer to ensure a thorough evaluation of the situation. Following the test purchase, the retailer will be promptly informed of the results either on the spot or through written communication.
