Family Time

When you are in care it is important that you still have contact with your family. This is known as ‘Family Time’. Find out more below.

Family Time will be different for everyone – including how often it happens, where and how. Family time needs to be agreed between you, your family and your Social Worker.

In some rare cases children in care are not allowed to see their families. If this happens, your Social Worker should explain why. Usually, you can write to each other to keep in touch.

If you don’t want to see members of your family, you should tell your Social Worker. It is important for them to understand how you feel, so they can make sure the right plans get made.
