In August 2025, We Do Care proudly hosted Buckinghamshire’s 12th Children in Care Celebration Day, in partnership with Inspire Bucks, Waitrose Aylesbury and Waitrose Beaconsfield.
This year’s event had a Summer Festival theme, inspired by young people’s ideas.
The event was a huge success with 269 people attending. This included 82 care-experienced children and young people aged 8 weeks old to 17 years, and their guests of fostering families, friends, keyworkers and family members.
The atmosphere was joyous, and full of smiling faces! It was incredible to see so many children and young people in care enjoying a variety of fun activities, such as inflatables, circus skills workshop, sand art, face painting and glitter, and summer games.
Food vendors Olivero’s Pizza Van and Rare Mare Ice cream each included vegan, gluten-free, and halal options, ensuring the food offer was accessible and child-friendly.
Candyfloss was also on offer, with the station kindly manned by the Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) team.
200 slices of cake, kindly donated by Matilda’s Café in Aylesbury, were also given out as leaving gifts.
